Day 10 - Southwark & Tate Modern

Today we had a tour Southwark, which is on the South side of the Thames.
Boat!!!!
Wall left over from the something something cough cough century
The South Bank was where all the sinners hung out. It was essentially London's center for corruption. This next picture shows the remainder of the Clink Prison
You know the phrase "locked up in the Clink"? Well this is where it comes from. It has been turned into a museum where you can look at old torture devices and prison cells. I opted out of that tour. Yuck.
Tate Modern is a museum for modern art. It's not really my thing, but it was fun to check it out. As you can see, the building is a little different from all the other museums. That is because it used to be a warehouse. Apparently in the 1990's London decided to spruce up the South Bank, turning the warehouse into a museum, building Shakespeare's' Globe Theatre..... It's a bit strange to think that just a short time ago, London would have looked a lot different.
